PRE-OWNED (BOX TOP CORNERS SPLIT OUT, 97 CHARACTERS INSTEAD OF 101 - WALDO INCLUDED): There was no escaping Waldo in the early 90's. The "Where's Waldo" books were in every child-centered waiting room in America I'm sure, and were hot commodities in book stores and libraries for quite a while. Martin Handford's wonderful illustrations are used for all of the pieces. There have always been search-and-find books, but it was the whimsical art which made the Where's Waldo series so appealing. All 101 character pieces are placed into the plastic globe, shaken, and poured out onto the table where they are spread so that they are not on top of each other. The spinner is spun, indicating a character. The timer is wound to the desired length of time and started. All player begin searching for the indicated character from amongst the character tiles on the table. If a player finds the character tile in the allotted time they pick it up, and place it aside. Time is reset, the spinner is re-spun, and play continues. Once a single player finds and collects five different characters they are declared the winner. There is also a single player version of the game which follows mostly the same rules, but instead of trying to beat other players you try to beat your search time in subsequent rounds. A more direct line from product to gameplay you probably can't find anywhere. Where's Waldo is a book about finding Waldo in amongst a bunch of things, and here you're basically doing the same.
